Si katuk BY Brunei girl

Salam :)
Eh, kamu pernah sadar kah? Kalau baru2 pindah ke rumah baru, macam ada2 saja terjadi? Maybe kalau kan di explain logically, we can say sebab ketani balum adjust arah kawasan atu, yetah lain rasanya. Tapi kadang2 kan, ada tia jua 'happenings' ani yang kan di explain dari mana2 angle pun, inda dapat ketani elak realitinya.

Dulu, masa kami baru pindah to this banglo, aku ingat a few things yang kerap berlaku.

Aku atu, baca komik dalam bilik mamaku sorang2. And after I was bored, aku keluar kan, kali ada tia my aunty ani (as in my mum punya cousin) tarus2 keluar dari bilik tamu. Muanya pucat,
"Ada orang katuk2 tabuk ah!"
She was saying to the ppl at the dining room.
Semua orang diam. Almaklum, it was quite late. Macam marijap jua.
Ia mcm hysterical sikit time atu, and ia lagi anu jenis relek, so of course we took her seriously. Kali my dad bawa my abang keluar, meliat mun ada banar orang capi2 di taman kami malam atu.
After a few minutes, durang datang balik and then, nada jelama.
"Banar! BANAR! Ada tadi!" nya my Aunty tapi after a while ia calm down sebab ia inda mau riuh jua.
Sebenarnya, time2 atu, mau dijadikan cerita pulang tu amongst kami adi-beradi. Especially me, sebab, if ada tah banar orang kan capi2 mengatuk2 tabuk malam2, alang-alang ia mengatuk tabuk bilik mamaku masa aku baca komik tadi. Tapi my parents jenisnya yang inda mau encourage membasar-basari barang2 cemani ani. Jadi kami semua diam2 saja. Until a few days pass and kami inda lagi ingat peristiwa ani.
One night, entah kenapa aku ani duduk dapan pintu bilik tamu. Dalam bilik tamu atu my adik dua orang, si Suze sama si Wan. Tangah malam sudah, tapi it was cuti jadi durang liat TV.
Kali masa aku duduk2 atu, aku dangar bunyi barang pacah. Nyaring banar, jadi aku toleh kebelakang, aku takut frame gambar belakang ani tegugur. Yang calinya, nada papa. Aku ani in the middle of looking for barang pacah atu kali adi-adiku ani belari arah ku, sorang2 pucat.
"Ka Elle ka Elle! ADA LAGI AH!" nya si Wan, arah ku, "Ada katuk2 lagi!"
Meliat mua durang pucat atu sudah ku tungkal, apa lagi masa ku dangar cakapnya atu.
"Bah bah lajutah masuk bilik babu!" nya ku, trying to be cool lah, mun aku pun freak out, menangis karang jadinya.
Jadi durang bagitau my mum. Mamaku mcm half awake masa atu so ia mcm "Ah baru kamu tau, pasal kamu akhir tidur tu!"
Jadi si Suze sama si Wan tarus tidur.
Malar si Katuk atu mengacau, ingat ku tu. Aku pun kana sekali, lagi bisai, masa aku duduk bawah tabuk atu jua.
Masa atu, barutah ku paham kenapa everyone mcm mental when it happens.
Aku atu liat TV sama adi2 ku.
It was at night, again. Very late.
Kali tabuk atu kana katuk mcm apa. Marijap. Macam, pernah kamu dangar burung melanggar dinding/pintu? (It happens ok) Yetah bunyinya tu. Tapi balik2! Mcm kan di pacah jua tabuk atu usulnya.
Sama jua macam masa kami baru pindah di rumah kami masa ani.
Kan aku sama sisters ku rapat. So sometimes sleepover arah bilik masing2.
Entah kenapa that night, aku ani tebangun tiba2.
Kali, ada orang mengatuk tabuk ku.
Tuk, tuk, tuk, halus ia mengatuk.
"Pssst~" nya jelama atu.
"Elle." Bisik kaka ku, yang baru ku sadar bangun jua masa atu.
"I know" ganya balas ku.
Lapastu kami diam sampai dua2 tertidur balik. Inda kami ungkit lagi kisah ani arah each other lapas malam atu.
Like the old house, after a while, si katuk inda lagi menjelma Allahamdullilah. Entah...mungkin ia atu kan cuba masuk tapi inda dapat? Wallahualam. Allah Maha mengetahui.

Assalamualaikum :)

Yetah jangan setaie by Brunei Girl

Hi again. Sorry, I've been busy :|

Anyway, I would like to share some 'kisah teladan'-s haha.

So this one's according to a relative of mine, let's call her 'K' who used to be able to 'see'. In one of my previous posts, I explained the theories one of my IRK teachers discussed about the ability to 'see' beings from the other realm. So, K would be one of those people who might have inherited a certain 'friend' from one of our ancestors thus granting her the ability to see. However as I also mentioned in said post, K had lost her ability when she reached a certain age and sort of start sembahyang thus the 'friend' inda lagi attached to her lah.

Anyway, so this was a time when she still had this ability.

So, remember Hami? The incorrigible cousin who asked Suze whether she could see the Ponti smiling at them through the window from a previous post? Yeah, this is a story about him. Ia setaie. Again.

Right, so this was again at my Nini's house and it might have been another 'ngaji' night or a family gathering, whichever. K was watching TV in the common area upstairs, minding her own business. This was when she heard the kids (they're teens now but whatever) fussing in front of my Nini's door. By the time K told me this story, I knew where it was going as she had previously shared her own experience of what she 'met' in that room.

Basically, one night. Our grandma suruh panggil our nini right and K went and walked into the room. She saw our nini praying... only to realise after a while that it wasn't our nini. It was just a 'being' praying on my nini's mat. K decided that it was harmless as she only noticed this being to only do that in that room. Just sembahyang on my nini's mat.

Back to the main story.

So the kids were sibuk2 right. And K realised that one of the kids, let's call him P, was quite upset. All K could make out of his speech was;

"Tu...tu.. dalam bilik nini ah" he repeated over and over, near to tears.

K didn't really do anything about it. Perhaps P was just freaked out that he saw something. I've heard P's mum mention about P and his older brother 'spotting' things since they were younger so it wasn't news to me. I think there's a variation in tolerance for people with these things. Like K, she used to have sort of an immunity to it. But after ia sembahyang sudah apa, she lost that ability & I realise when she returned for summer holidays, even she was freaked out a few times mun 'teliat' or 'tedangar' stuff since her room was empty all the while she was away to study dulu.

Sorry, digressing saja.

So, P was clearly upset.

And in comes Hami, his chest puffed up, a setaie (then) 12 year old, looking down at P,

"MANA? MANA?" nya si Hami, tagapkan nya lagi badannya tu, looking down at P. The little boy, rubbing his eyes, pointed to my Nini's room.

K described how Hami was even strutting into that room, followed by a trail of kids.

He came back out. Quiet. And pale.

K had a good laugh hehe. Whatever that Hami had seen, clearly drove the setaie out of him. K shared this story with the lesson that we shouldn't be sombong about these things. Banar jua tu, akhirnya Allah s.w.t. jua saja yang Maha berkuasa inda ja?

Another one. Short lah, I don't want to waste people's time.

So my Bibi told me the story which has the same 'teladan' as it were haha.

This should eradicate a misconception everybody has about Ramadan. Did you know, during the holy month of Ramadan, yang kana chain up and thrown into the depths of the sea atu, are the setans? Of course, of course. People are aware of this. But what ppl have persisted to believe is that this includes Djins. No. This is wrong.

Even in surah An-nas, in the last verse, indicates how we are on the same page. In that we are created to worship God. It is just that humans always seek the help of Djins and Devils (HUGEEE sin btw) that we merge these two beings into one-which creates confusion. There is also surah Al-Jinn indicating that the same benefits lay on the other side for those among their kind who believe in the right path. Like humans, there are good djins and there are bad ones. But either way, we should avoid associating ourselves with their kind as interaction between the two realms might lead each kind astray. Wallahua'lam.

Anyway. The story goes like this.

My Bibi was indignant on going to the surau to sembahyang magrib there right after sungkai. Her mother cakap, sembahyang magrib di rumah saja and then she can go Isya and subsequently terawih afterwards in the surau. Well, I think my bibi's mom had a point. Neither of them are wrong here but what my bibi's mom suggested was much more convenient and my bibi could still terawih eventually that night. Besides, practicing religion should not be a burden.

But yetahkan, my bibi was setaie. She tacitly agreed jua that when she told us this story.

So in this quest of setaie-ness, she dragged her younger sister along.

Off they went in twilight, walking in the dimming day on a barren road to the surau. Along this path, was a big tree. I think, I thinkkk it's what our folks call 'pokok ara-ara'? Very spooky looking tree that literally looks like a candid capture of a heavy metal head in the middle of a serious head banging session. Of course me being weird, secretly find this pokok sort of lawa.

So anyway. Bibi was walking to the surau when something literally jumped into view and stood before her.

My bibi was dead shocked.

The creature, tinggi, with an indescribably ugly face, stared her down. She froze. Gila, I honestly would've wet myself 'cause the way she described it to me...ni, writing this myself, I have goosebumps. The being was massive, betaring, rambutnya kusut and it was just staring my bibi down. Nya my bibi, she literally couldn't move then. Because one, that thing was in front of her and two, she just couldn't. What freaked me out most was that it was just her and her lil sister. Two girls with no one else around on that barren road.

Mcm O_O

And she told us that adiknya, perhaps not having seen what she saw, froze too. They held hands and bibi wouldn't let her go. And since they were near that tree, unlike me, the adik didn't take a while to do the math. She knew that my bibi was looking at something and that something was in their way.

I am not quite clear what happened next.

But my bibi knew better than to go out for a stroll during twilight.

Assalamualaikum :)

Where's your head? BY Brunei Girl

I had mentioned once how oblivious I can be as a human being.

Well, a couple of years ago something happened from one of our family outings. Biasanya, kami bertolak dari rumah akhir so naturally balik pun akhir. I was sitting di belakang, minding my own business while looking outside the window. It was at bandar and I think this was before ada mall kali. So balik dari wherever the restaurant was, kami lintasi this building. Quite prominent so I won't say the name. But basically, at night, the spotlights are on arah tamannya.

Kelurusan that I was just looking at that side of the car that I caught something. In the taman, aku nampak a man walking around there. Ia melangkah one of the spotlights so of course I could see him clearly. What was most interesting about this man was that ia nada kepala...
Another time, in the same year,

I was coming home from skulah ugama. This is in the Lambak area. It was only me yang kana ambil masa atu so it was quiet and I had nothing to look at but the road ahead of me. I was looking at cars passing by when one car made me turn around. It was weird sebab aku dapat liat badannya saja. I remember thinking, "kenapa ia drive macam atu?" sebab at first I thought, ia limpangkan kepalanya berabis ke belakang that I couldn't see his head. And I innocently thought, "Dangerous tu eh..."

Of course sudah ku berakal sikit I realised that, that man nada kepala jua.

Assalamualaikum =)

That's not my brother sleeping next to me. BY Brunei Girl

Hi :)

I was asking Suze about her other 'experiences' the other night when she reminded me of one of my own. It was from when we were living in the house before the one we live in now.

It was an army housing, similar to the one where Suze first saw the smiling ponti. And our big brother was unwell at the time so we all congregated to our eldest sister's room. So kami ramai2 tidur in her room, looking after our abang. Despite being young masa atu, kami semua dengani my mum kelinga my brother so we were all tired.

Then, one night...

Aku tidur siring abangku kan tu, on the floor. Ngalih banar-banar ku, sampai tidur pun inda nyaman. Tapi sebab ingau kan abang kami, I was in and out. Tebangun2 saja. Then, at one point, aku ani buka mata kan... Yang lainnya, I realise someone was lying next to me. And I knew it wasn't my abang. Weird ni kan ku describe. Basically, 'she' was on my abang? As if he was a tilam. Cali lagi tu caranya melimpang. Ia support badannya by her elbows and of course, ia nada kaki.

Of course aku inda nampak muanya. It was dark but dari the light from the hallway, I knew it was a girl by her long hair and slender body.

But aku terlalu ngalih. Banar-banar ku ngalih that I couldn't be bothered. I just said to myself; Look, I'm too tired. I'm just too tired. And I fell back asleep...

That's basically the story-lah.

I'll share one from Suze :)

There was a time in this house we currently live in, kami suka tidur in our kaka's room downstairs. We're just close that way. Then one time, I didn't join them and slept in my room. So it was only kaka and Suze. Naturally since it wasn't a surrounding she was used to, Suze didn't really sleep well.

Now, ada ceramin basar siring katil kaka ku masa atu and Suze slept on that side. Ertinya, Suze dapat meliat reflection arah my kaka's side of the bed kan tu? Exactly.

She woke up one time. And what did she see?

Bini-bini berdiri menghadap kaka ku, menantang kaka ku tidur.

Yes, I feel sorry for Suze too, having her sleep disturbed this way more than once.

Solution si Suze in this event was of course, pura-pura tidur.

I'll share some more lagi nanti :)

Assalamualaikum!

Mind her silence O_O BY Brunei Girl

Hi again :D

I would like to share one of Suze's stories as I promised from the last post. Hehe.

There was a time when bapa kami suka bawa kami makan diluar, at least once a week mesti ada. And that one night, not particularly different from malam-malam yang lain, something happened. Since kami sudah basar2, my dad pakai kereta van kan, so Suze and I duduk di belakang sekali. Kira beredar-edar nya orang brunei, sama brothers kami; which pair duduk arah those seats.

Almaklum, despite orang tua2 melarang beibun dalam kereta, Suze and I did just that. Beibun2 dari the restaurant. Then, that night, my dad drove arah this one jalan yang tambus dari bandar and it is quite sunyi and ia melintas one government building ani yang kalau ku sabut orang tau hence inda mau pakai that jalan again. So I refrain from disclosing the place. Di subok kali =_= I'm not sure, I'm useless with directions anyway.

Why I particularly remember about this jalan was that, my dad inda pernah pakai this jalan during our other outings. Anddd... it was also at that jalan, si Suze tiba-tiba diam. When it comes to my adik ani, if ia bad mood, I quickly pester her with questions. As I did that night...

"Kenapa ni Suze?" *poking her arm*

"Nada...nada" nya, with a frown, looking out through her side of the window.

"Astaaahhh... what's wrong???" *mua memajal*

She clicked her tongue impatiently at me, "Nada wahhhh... sakit kepala Suzeee" (we don't use kau and aku di rumah.)

So I let it go but began asking again masa di rumah. She wouldn't budge and aku give up saja.

It was only later (like a few years after that) =_= she revealed to me what happened.

Kan ia bagas beibun sama aku tu, looking at my direction. So naturally, ia terlihat kereta di belakang kan tuu. That car, was driving very close to ours. Membuntut-buntuti nya orang ketani. Sampai at one point, our dad macam,

"Mengaapaa ia kereta di belakang aniii"

Maybe because of the car's head lights, si Suze inda nampak the driver awal-awal. But sudah di liat-liatnya... driver seat kereta atu, kosong.

And not surprising enough, sudah masuk highway where the street lights ada... the car was gone.

ps. Kalau kan pakai jalan-jalan sunyi like the one above, bisai-bisai saja.

Assalamualaikum :)

Jangan layan saja :) BY Brunei Girl

Hello again :)

So, just a short story from my experience.

Since the first night I’ve stayed at the University flat, I always had this thing about waking up at 2 or 3 am in the morning before forcing myself back to sleep. It was frequent in the beginning but seldom occurred when I started to get used to the surroundings.

And in these ‘awakenings’ I would always hear my flatmate si H, bangun masih di bilik sebalah. And it was true, sometimes she’d come back from her work apa at late hours.

A few months passed and the winter holidays came. My flatmates all left the flat and I was the only one in. I wasn’t phased by this, not really. Entah I guess I must be one of the most oblivious people in the world haha. Why? Well, I cleaned up the place a bit since I was the last one to go. And since my flight was early, I had to leave the flat at 4am so I decided to pull an all-nighter. So, I took out the trash (at 1 am) and turun ke bawah. This was when I realised as I was at the top floor, everybody in the building had already ‘balik kampung’ and I was the only one in the building.

To pass the time, I returned to my room sebab ku pikir alang2 liat a movie. I was moving the chair when I heard this familiar voice. Imagine kamu, duduk and someone passed by and whispered something at your direction. Cematu. Why it was familiar, sebab pernah a few months earlier, the same thing happened. My alarm belum go off but I was awake. Before aku buka mata, ada orang bebisik in my face hence why I was wide awake after that. And honestly aku cakap, aku inda give it much thought masa atu. I just thought it was weird.

Kali, in the middle of watching the movie, I heard arah bilik si H. Ada orang buka tutup switch. And at that time, I just thought, ‘Huh, rupanya selama ani bukan si H’. Yes, aku banar-banar inda ‘click’ nya orang.

But nothing else happened. Nya my teacher, kalau kamu kana kacau hantu, jangan takut. Sebab mun ia kacau-kacau kamu and kamu macam nada saja, ia pun buring kan kamu and would just go away. I guess mun ku bawa-bawa rasa atu, something might have happened. Inda pulang ku minta. :|

Anyway, that’s my boring story.

Banyak cerita from Suze though but nanti saja I share.

I’ll share a short one from my auntie saja.

She lives in Lambak Kanan and this neighborhood she lives in was an actual hutan dulu.

Kali, one night, ia ani tiba-tiba ada rasa kan membuang sampah. Tangah malam ah ia kan buang sampah. Kali my other auntie cakap,

“Jangantah Jah, esuk saja”

But my auntie ani memajal jua.

So out she went, mendulur the weird OCD impulse tangah-tangah malammm. So ia jalan to the bin when ia sadar someone else was with her that night. Dakat tampat sampah atu ada bunga-bunga. Ada tia ‘orang’ ani meliat-liat the flowers ani. Yang lainnya, nya my auntie ia macam iski meliat bunga ah.

My auntie macam, “Eh behapa…” den di liat-liatnya, sadar ia bukan manusia. Jadi laju-laju ya masuk rumah balik.

Lesson here, lainkali, mun ada impulse yang inda-inda tangah malam, jangan layan.

Assalamualaikum.

She smiles BY Brunei Girl

Assalamualaikum everyone J

I would like to share dengan kamu, two of the many eerie experiences from my adik when she was a few years younger. But before I start, I would like to share with you something Cikgu-cikgu IRK shared with us dulu masa aku form 3 through 5. One of them said that you can only ‘see’ ghosts (or accurately dalam Islam; Djinns) if, 1. You are of the pious i.e. orang-orang alim yang diberi anugerah Tuhan the gift of sight, 2. If you have inherited the djinn i.e. Unbeknownst to you, rupanya nenek moyang kamu memelihara dahulu (jangan offended because it was practiced a lot dahulu because orang inda berapa arif pasal agama) and the other said that 3. The djinss berniat kan meliatkan diri dorang secara senghaja. Wallahualam, all in all, bear in mind, the one who is Most Knowing is Allah SWT.

In the case of my adik, she would fit in the number 3 category.

A few years ago, we lived in this housing di Lambak Kiri (wouldn’t disclose any further if you don’t mind). This place, is really old and small and rumah kami dahulu atu, very very near to a hutan and on top of that, only a stone throws away from a pantai. So dikirakan, it is more susceptible untuk djinss to go ‘out and play’ sebab durang lagi batah disana-I rationalize cemani pulang.

Suze, my adik (bukan nama banar) is one of those kids yang ‘sanang nampak’ I guess. Wallahualam, why these beings suka menjelmakan diri dapannya.

Well anyway, one night, we were sleeping in our mother’s room, masuk akal lah ah, rumah damit, more than one people sleep in a room. Suze anak bungsu so ia tidur tangah-tangah while my mum tidur on her left while I was on her right. For some reason, Suze tebangun tangah-tangah malam atu. And something in the corner of her eye, caught her attention.

Pintu bilik my mum, bebuka. Suze quietly looked at the door when ia sadar, yang membuka pintu ani bini-bini. Bini-bini ani, bukan our maid or our kaka yang tidur bilik sebalah… Suze was scared but could only keep still as this woman in white, with long, long black hair stood at the opened door. Bini-bini atu, senyummm arah adik ku. Ketungkalan, si Suze tapuk under the blanket, tunggu sampai bini-bini atu hilang. Maybe ia pikir it was just her imagination, jadi for a while, subuknya lagi. The woman was still smiling, her face was pale and her eyes, stuck on my adik’s face.

Helplessly, Suze pusing arah my mum. She shook my mum punya tangan but my mum inda tebangun. Cali, sebab my mum, sanang tebangun wah. Light sleeper nya orang putih. Tapi that particular night, my mum just wouldn’t bangun. So Suze turned to me.

Malu ku pulang kan membagitau ni. But when Suze turned to me, aku pakai mask masa atu (almaklum, teenager perasan) so despite this cali moment, she turned back to the door. Bini-bini atu masih jua berdiri, senyum-senyum arahnya. After what seemed forever, the girl, tutup pintu and left my adik alone…

On another occasion, it happened at our nini’s house. This was also Suze yang cerita arah ku, unlike her aku inda sanang nampak stuff (not that aku minta-minta, Nauzubillah…)

It was malam Jumaat so kami baru habis mengaji. The kids suka main-main di bilik tamu after that. Ada our cousin si Hami (bukan nama banar), ia ani gauklah when he was a younger boy. But he was older than the other kids yang belari-lari di dalam bilik tamu atu however masih pulang setaie sedikit hahaha! Why I thought he was setaie, was because unlike Suze, though Hami can ‘see’ things easily too, ia ani penagur.

So, ia panggil si Suze.

“Suze, Suze,” nya, while standing in front of the window (note, this is MALAM) I would imagine ia pingang tabir because usually they’re closed at night. Kali si Suze aga ia,

“Apa?”

Si Hami tunjuk, outside.

My nini tinggal di bukit, so ia buat retaining wall behind the house to prevent tanah runtuh. This retaining wall can be seen clearly from this part of the bilik tamu. I guess for recreational reasons, my nini made it look like a side of mountain rather than a bland wall.

“Apa tu?” nya si Hami.

On the ‘bukit’, Hami was pointing at something they could both see in the dark. That thing was sitting, almost in a squatting manner. It was a girl, with long hair and she was smiling. At their direction.

Si Suze, knowing exactly what it was, only kept quiet.

Kali kelurusan uncle kami datang, he called them to come out dari bilik tamu, takutnya bejurit kali. So our Usu got the kids out of the living room, not knowing what Hami and Suze were both talking about while they were both oddly standing near the window earlier…

Hehe. Okay sampai sini sahaja. I hope I didn’t bore anybody, and if I did, minta maaf ku banyak-banyak.

Rumah Sewa - Zeezohan

Cerita ani lama sudah inda pulang seram bnr. Our family had to moved to a rented bungalow for a while. I think we're the only muslim fam...
