I did not have many interesting personal ghost encounters but it is good to know that one or two of my cousins did and lucky for them - just in case they haven't got the chance to deliver the stories themselves - they have a cousin right here who'd like to share them with everybody else. haha
The first story they told me happened in their very house in Tutong a few summers ago, but before I go even further, let me tell you guys the very basis to this (and also others that I might tell you in the weeks to come).
It has been known within our family circle that the land we own in Pengkalan Mau had been left long enough for wild vegetation to grow, until the first (and only) house was erected on that spot by my uncle circa 1996. But the house has remained vacant ever since, as the family were also living somewhere in Bandar. Quite well off they were back then.
They finally moved into the house in 2005, after lots of modern touches to it. But at the same, it was no surprise that they also assumed that there would be a great number of strange things lying ahead of them - especially when the father actually has a 'third' eye.
So back to the main story.
Among all the rooms in that house, there's only one which has always been 'out-of-bounds' for 'known' reasons, and that is the kitchen on the top floor. So yada yada everyone told everyone.... but one - the amah they just hired.
She was greatly unaware of the whole situation about the house. So one day she decided to do some spring cleaning, and quite expectedly, went into the forbidden kitchen. Nothing happened until that night when she was about to doze off. At a corner of her almost-pitch-dark room, she saw a white figure resembling that of a woman with the face mostly covered by the long messy hair. And behind the hair, two protruding angry red eyes stared directly in her direction. The amah was, of course, petrified.
She quit the next day.
(P/s: One thing that puzzled me though. If the kitchen was supposed to be a no-entry space, shouldn't it be locked away from people's reach at least? =s)
